Dr. Joe Knapp, PT, DPT
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Wichita State University in 2011
- Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Wichita State University in 2016
Joe was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. He discovered his love for human anatomy and physiology his senior year and began researching different health professions. He found physical therapy to be the most interesting and never turned back. In July of 2010, Joe married his high school sweetheart, Hanna. Joe received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise Science from Wichita State University in December 2011. He then worked for Advanced Physical Therapy as a tech and office aide until he started PT school in June of 2013. He loves physical therapy because he is able to develop a complete understanding of the effects of patients’ pathologies. He also feels that physical therapy allows him to treat the patient as a whole person, rather than simply a diagnosis. In his spare time, Joe enjoys staying active, riding bicycles, and spending time with his wife and their two daughters, Lucy and Amelia.
Joe’s clinical rotations allowed him to experience multiple settings and learn about multiple treatment approaches. In his rotations, he experienced inpatient, outpatient, and acute care settings. He has worked with specialists in the fields of manual therapy, orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, and pediatrics. He has spent time developing manual therapy skills in both elective courses and clinical rotations. He enjoys reading the latest rehabilitation research and using clinical evidence in his treatment approach.
